      Linear Pivots refers to the parallel linear movement of all spans, water flow from the center point through the uniform distribution of the sprinklers on the fuselage to irrigate the ground, referred to as the linear irrigation machinery.

      There are four reasons for choosing the Linear Pivots.

      1. The shape of farmland plots is determined.

      Suitable for irrigation of long plots, and the plots are flat.

      2. Improve land utilization rate and increase yield.

      Compared with the Center Pivot, the land utilization rate is more than 98%, which effectively solves the problem that the circular sprinkler can not cover the four dead corners. When the length-to-width ratio is greater than 3:1 on a narrow and long plot, the cost performance of the Linear Pivot will be higher, and the longer and narrower the plot, the more cost-effective the Linear Pivots. For example, if the width of the plot is 500m and the length is 2000m, then four center pivot irrigation machineries with a radius of 250m are needed. The length of the equipment structure is 1000m, and the effective irrigation area is π*250²*4/10000=78.5 ha. If a Linear Pivot with a structural length of 500m is used, the effective irrigation area can reach 500*2000/10000=100.05 hectares. In this case, the structure length of the equipment is only 50% of the pointer type, but the actual irrigation area is 127% of the pointer type.

      3. Reduce investment costs.

      When the length to width ratio of the irrigation plot exceeds 2:1, the cost of the linear pivot irrigation machine is more advantageous, and a set of  the linear pivot irrigation machine can run thousands of meters, which can save more equipment investment costs. At the same time, the linear pivot irrigation machine can be configured with fertilizer application system, spraying fertilizer, pesticide and so on.

      4. Consider from the investment perspective of supporting infrastructure. 

      In areas with relatively flat terrain, we give priority to channel water supply, and even in many places, the original irrigation channels and drainage channels can be transformed into water supply channels with only a few minor modifications. Wells are already scattered throughout most of the traditional agricultural plots. At this time, only the water from the previous irrigation well needs to be diverted to the channel, and the original well does not need to be reformed.

      Linear Pivot can be divided into three categories.

      1. Two-wheel Linear irrigator.

      It is generally suitable for small plots, and the equipment does not exceed 4 spans and the length does not exceed 250 meters.

      The water supply can be supplied to canals and towed pipes. The power supply mode can supply power to diesel generator set and drag cable power supply. The cross-sport alignment method is generally a common guide bar.

      2. Four-wheel heavy duty Linear Pivot machine.

      The four-wheel heavy duty Linear Pivot machine is generally suitable for a large area of land, the longest equipment can be 24 spans, the longest length can reach 1200 meters, and the slope of the terrain is generally not more than 3 degrees. The water supply method is generally channel water supply. If the equipment is shorter than 6 spans and the irrigated area is less than 40 hectares, the managed water supply can also be considered. The power supply method can supply power to the diesel generator set. If the equipment is shorter than 8 spans and the irrigation area is less than 66.7 hectares, dragging cable power supply can also be considered. Due to the length of the equipment, the improved control rod or floating control system is generally used for cross-sport alignment.

      3. Four conventional Linear Pivot machine.

      The four-wheel conventional leveling machine is generally suitable for a plot of no more than 66.7 hectares, the longest length of the equipment is 12 spans, the longest length can reach 600 meters, and the slope of the terrain is generally not more than 3 degrees. The water supply method is generally channel water supply. If the equipment is shorter than 6 spans and the irrigated area is less than 40 hectares, the managed water supply can also be considered. The power supply mode can supply power to diesel generator set and drag cable power supply. Improved control rod or floating control system is generally used for cross-sport alignment.
